High performance Coltlites for the green STREAM building at the Seattle Academy of Arts & Sciences.
STREAM’s informal and formal learning environments and flexible lab spaces were designed to facilitate SAAS’ emphasis on problem-solving, innovation and student collaboration. The STREAM building was designed to exceed the LEED Gold level: the building utilises power from photovoltaic panels and features a green roof atop a new breezeway that connects it to the existing Arts building. Additional sustainable features include a 12,000-gallon cistern for rain water harvesting, hydronic ceiling panels, radiant heat floors, and passive cooling.
A smoke ventilation solution was chosen for the unique performance of Coltlite ventilators that contributes to the building’s sustainability, and the high level of service provided by Colt.
