The Colt iECO is an automatic day to day and smoke ventilator for highly efficient natural ventilation that requires no external sources of energy. The iECO can also provide natural daylight entry.
The iECO is a cost-effective and reliable louvred ventilator, with a particularly high life expectancy, a wide range of variations and low heat losses. Its optimised louvre and body designs mean that it can achieve a U value of up to 1.6 W / m² K.
Wide range of applications - iECO is classed as a dual purpose ventilator, providing day to day and smoke control ventilation and fire ventilation. iECO can also be installed in the vertical either for low level air inlet or for high level extract.
5 types of polycarbonate sheets - Standard and hail-protection versions, with either transparent or opaque louvres, as well as a Comfort Light version where additional protection is required against high temperatures. Further colour versions available on request
A huge range - a wide variety of possible sizes, louvre designs and control types
High performance - iECO smoke vent is aerodynamically efficient and has a high resistance to weather.
Certified performance - iECO has been exhaustively tested and certified to EN 12101-2 in accredited third party test laboratories and is CE marked.
Quality of manufacture - iECO is manufactured under the ISO 9000 quality standard. Each unit is given a functional test before despatch.
Design service - Colt provides a pre-order design service. Please contact Colt for more information relating to the application, specification, installation or servicing of iECO.
There are some restrictions on the maximum size of the ventilator if glass louvers are used. Colt can advise on this.
Depending on the application, louvers made from:
These reduce air leakage when the ventilator is closed.
Suitable for fixing either onto a curb, into glazing, into curtain walling, or into roof sheeting.
For both electric and pneumatic versions, either double-action locking mechanisms, failsafe open or failsafe closed.
If used as a smoke ventilator, activation is either by local thermal fuse which opens the unit at a pre-selected temperature, or by responding to an external release signal.
Its performance varies with the size and options selected. Most tests to EN 12101-2.
